Truth and relationships

When a person asks you where they stand with you, I believe it is only respect and decency that you tell them the simple truth. To lead them around dodgy corners with vague answers to such simple questions is a sign of untrustworthy character.

Very true. I’ve found that many people have an aversion to causing waves. Confrontation is not something they know how to handle the repercussions of so they bury the truth to keep the peace. They’ll turn to ghosting instead of simply stating the truth that would give themselves and the person involved the clarity and motivation to move forward without looking back. And then you have others who really enjoy stringing people along for their own amusement and reasons they don’t like to acknowledge, keeping innocent hearts on the back burner should those who they are actively pursuing in that moment become silent for any duration of time that leaves their mind alone long enough for them to feel the emptiness within that they can’t seem to fill.
