I Lost a Friend

Not death wise. I....you'll probably won't think I'm a sweetheart after this. I...knew that my best friend's boyfriend cheated on her. I wanted to tell her but I figured she would know for herself. Someone told her I knew about it. She comfronted me about and scold at me for not telling her that her boyfriend cheated on her and she didn't speak to me for three weeks. She couldn't trust me because I wasn't honest. She gave me another chance. I'm glad she did. This was four years ago. Then....I don't wanna tell you the other thing. It's too horrible to talk to and that causes me my friendship with her. The others was angry with me too.

Don't ask me what it is. I am not telling you. Not yet.

You are not under any obligation to tell someone they're being cheated on. And if you had done that, she might have gotten angry, who knows. A situation like that is always difficult and in general, if you're in doubt about whether to tell or not on cases like this, it is often best to stay out of it. You were not being "dishonest" with her by not volunteering the information that her boyfriend was cheating. You were, however, wrong to talk about it to others if you didn't talk about it to her; rumors get started and things get sticky.

She had no reason to pin her anger on you. So, whatever you've done, stop worrying about it because she is probably too immature and emotionally unstable to maintain a long term friendship.
