Interstellar is a movie by Christopher Nolan. It's set in the future, and earth is slowly becoming less habitable for humans. A former pilot and some others travel into space and through a wormhole that has appeared, possibly as a "gift." Their goal is to investigate the planets and determine which one will be their new home. I'm trying not to spoil it here. Time moves at a much different pace, and one hour on one planet, for example, is years on earth. Needless to say, there's a bit of a time constraint. When he returns, he discovers that his daughter, who was about 13 or so when he left, is now in her 80s and on her deathbed. It's an amazing movie.
