I Am In Counseling

I firmly believe I have social anxiety and as a result I'm always worrying when in public. I literally cannot speak in public, talk to a stranger, participate in class, etc., or just do what others do and I feel it will hold me back in my future. It's scary. I've had it for maybe six years now and it's starting to crush me. My college has a program that deals with excessive worry and I feel it will really help me. I start my first session next week. Very hopeful.

Try exposure therapy (better done with a group). That works great And is fun. The thing is to do weird things on the street, like talking crazy shit to strangers or just resting on the floor in a public place. Look it up!

Oh boy just reading that makes me really nervous. That does sound fun, but what if people think I'm like crazy or something?

What it matters what they think about you? Would it hurt? (Try not to insult them) btw I did this as extra activity when I was 14 And it actually helps to loose the fear of caring bout that. After that you can do theatre:) there's a Ted talk about liing 30 sec on the floor, look it up!
