I Have Celiac Disease

I was finally diagnosed about a year and a half ago. So many years of suffering. Since I have been on the prescribed diet, life has been so much better. No more migraines, no more passing out in pain. No more violently ill spells.

My issue now is that many around me don't understand how important my diet is to my health. They think I can cheat a little. I can't. Not even a little. I am teased and ridiculed by family and friends. I have been accused of be a hypochondriac and a fanatic.

I used to lean heavily on corn when I was first diagnosed. I was still having issues. The doctor explained that I was going to need to have to eliminate the corn because I was not able to tolerate it due to the damage I already sustained. Maybe in the future I will be able to introduce it again.
