The direct answer is that women tend to internalize anger about sexual abuse at themselves because they feel powerless to put the blame where it belongs - on their abuser for fear of family or other social consequences. Also, the self hate given the above explanation is a subconscious attempt to resolve the issue by simply blaming oneself which over time turns into self hate because in fact nothing is resolved. Counselling and hopefully the love and support of family/friends is what is needed
