The school slipper!

I remember vividly tearfully coming out of the office with a burning bottom having received the due penalty for my crimes from a heartless mistress whose one objective appeared to be to make my bum the temperature of a volcano! Ow!
Did I deserve it? Not at the time, I thought! But looking back and assessing the nuisance I was - yes! Every time!

I was punished with the 'school slipper' at Primary and Grammar School. At Primary School, the headmaster used an old leather slipper and you were bent over one knee. At Grammar School the PE Teacher would not tolerate any messing about, if you did, you were bending over for whacks with an old rubber soled plimsoll. That was worse than the whacks at Primary School.

@MAJFF At my schools, junior and secondarys, we got the slipper in class, usually bent over a desk or chair. The headmistress at junior school also used the slipper but sometimes the cane. At secondary school, being sent to the headmaster or deputy headmistress.meant a caning.
