I Got Slippered At School

When I was in the second year of secondary school the boy sitting next to me whispered something and I couldn't help bursting out laughing. I can't remember exactly what he said, I think it was a rude joke about our teacher. Anyway Mr Tucker was blazing angry. Instead of slippering us himself as usually happened when boys talked in class, he sent us straight to the head.

I was really scared as I'd got the cane off the head earlier that term and he'd said I'd get it a lot harder if he saw me there again. John was even more upset as he'd never had the cane before and he kept asking me as we walked slowly along the corridor what would happen and how much it would hurt.

We reported to the secretary and had to wait in silence for a few minutes and then got called in. Much to my relief after he had soundly told us off and lectured us he said "I am not going to cane you". Instead he gave us both notes to hand in to one of the PE masters and then bring back to him signed by the end of the week.

As we walked away, John said we should go to the PE office straight away. I was thinking we could go back to class and tell Mr Tucker we hadn't had the cane and then go to the office when we wanted, but John convinced me it was better to get it over with.

So we went and knocked on the PE office door. There was just one PE master there, Mr Green, who had taken us for PE in the first year. He called us in and read our notes. He made John take his jacket off and bend right over the large table in the middle of the room holding the opposite edge. John's feet were off the floor even though he tried to balance on tiptoe and his light grey trousers were pulled really tight.

Then Mr Green took a large white plimsoll off a shelf and really whacked it down on to John's tight trousers. He gasped at the first one and wriggled over the desk. Watching close up was really scary and I knew I was in for the same soon. I had never had more than four with the slipper at that time but Mr Green reached that and still kept going. He was squirming over the desk, yelping out loud and crying by the time he got the sixth whack and Mr Green pulled him up by his hair.

Then it was my turn. I was a bit taller than John and could keep my feet on the floor but it made no difference. He really hammered that plimsoll onto my bum. I did my best to stay quiet but John said I really yelled at the last couple and I don't doubt him!

Then he signed our forms and told us to get out. As soon as we were outside and back in the changing room we rubbed our stinging bottoms. It really did hurt almost as much as the cane. The stinging pain wore off in an hour or two but my bottom was black and blue that evening and stayed bruised for almost a week.

that is the problem with using a gym shoe...it was inclined to bruise the bottom. When i was slippered at school and whem using it as a deputy it was a proper house slipper. It had the top cut off leaving a very flexible leather sole that was whacked across the bottom. Their was no messing round it was trousers and pants down and your shirt raised t fully expose your bottom. then as a rule 2 or 3 hard whacks with it across our bare bottom that stung fr about an hour. It left red slipper ,marks on your bottom for about six hours. I ever recall it bruising my bottom but it sure stung when making contact.

@NankerPhelge a house slipper with a leather sole is by far the best as it bends on contact with the bottom and is less inclined to bruise and when used on the bare bottom it stings a lot more. At school i had my bottom slippered a fair number of times by the pe teacher. It was shorts down and reaching over the vaulting box so yoiur bare bottom stuck out so all the class could see it getting two or three hard cracks with the slipper.I think the slipper hurt more than dads strap.

@NankerPhelge i do not doubt you but i got the slipper many times at school but i never got use to it. It stung and hurt just as much every time i was slippered. The only thing being after the first couple of times it did not surprise me so much as to how much it hurt.

@chikki My dad's leather slippers hurt a lot more than the gym shoe. Mind you, my dad used to slipper my bare bottom and he gave me anything from a dozen to a couple of dozen smacks each time, whereas in school I never had more than six at a time and it was over my trousers.

@NankerPhelge the trouble with the slipper over trousers it greatly reduces the sting, be ita gym shoe or leather slipper. I would think it you hgot six with the gym shoe at school on your trousers your bottom must have been bruised for several days as itwould have been hit very hard. Must say 12 of dads leather slipper must have been very painful and rrally stung as it was leather on bare flesh. I two "good" things was I doubted if dad did it as hard on your bare bottom as you got it on trousers at school. Secondly while it would have hurt more from dad due to the number of whacks and your bottom beong bare i doubt if it bruised like when you got it at school.

@NankerPhelge when i got the slipper at school my bum felt as if it was on fire for an hour but it soon recovered. I do not think it ever was still hurting more than four hours later and could sit down without problems. The actual slipper shaped marks use to remain on my bottom for a couple of days. As a deputy when i used the slipper it was only 2 or 3 whacks buit mostly on the boys bare bottom. Tjey use to be slippered at 4.15 but if i saw them at the start of the nexct fay in the showers at the very most i could see was just the faint outline of where each smack had landed.The whiter the bottom the more the marks showed.

@NankerPhelge as a deputy it was always carried out in my office after school at 4.15.It was carried out in front of any others who were waiting and they saw the bare bottom slippered. When i was at school it was very commom thty during a pe lesson a nbopy would find himself over the vaulting box and a few stingers with the slipper on his bare bottom.

@chikki When there were a few of us we were called into the office one at a time, in alphabetical order as we were listed on the register. My name is close to the beginning of the alphabet so I was often the first one called in for a slippering.

@NankerPhelge not sure if it was "best" if you had to wait outside and hear the loud cracks on the bottom as the boy was slippered or if it was best if you were in the office and actually saw the slippering. You were fortunate in going first but imagine if you were at the end and had to watch, lets say ten boys go in, hear the whacks and see them coming out, often crying, grasping theur bottoms

@chikki Sometimes after I'd been slippered I'd go round the corner where I could keep out of sight but still hear the other boys being slippered. It used to make my day knowing they'd been slippered if they'd been annoying me during the day, that made it easier to bear the punishment myself. Lol :)

@chikki Yes, when it was done in the pavilion on the school field. I remember my last school slippering, I was 16. There was another lad, his name was David and we both threw sand all over each other. We got 6 each for that.

@NankerPhelge i know when i was at school we liked to see a boy get the slipper if we wwere not due to get it as well. Their was a kind of schoolboy glea in seeing somebody bending over about to get the slipper on his bare bottom and satisfaction when the slipper went right across both cheeks leaving a big red slipper mark on his bottom.

@chikki Except that we didn't get it on the bare when I was in school. I don't even think that was allowed. I'm talking about the 1970s.

@NankerPhelge esach to their own....private schools used far more corporal punishment than state schools. In most private schools both the slipper and cane were used with the vast majority doing it on the bare bottom. CP was banned in state schools in 1986 but not until 2000 in private schools. Right up to its abolition in 2000 a .lot of private prep schools (9-13) still made boys bare their bottom to be whacked.

@NankerPhelge private schools tended to be single sex ....i know the local private girl school used both the cane and strap and know from the headmistress that knickers came down for serious offences.

@chikki Single sex schools? That's a bit beyond the pale, isn't it? What was the idea behind that?

@NankerPhelge it may surprise you to know that in England in the state school secondary system while about 95% are mixed some areas do still have single sex schools such as in Horsham |Surrey. It is Millais for girls and Forest for boys with one school i cannot remember that is mixed. Think it is the Weald
