I Like Being Me

The one thing I most proud of about myself is that I can still look at the world with child-like eyes. When I see a butterfly I can smile and wonder at it's mystery and beauty and adventure in the same way I did when I was very small. I look at everything in the world in this way. I still love to lay on my back on a warm summer day and look off into the blue sky and stare for hours at the designs and patterns made by the clouds. Knowing myself I can't imagine this part of me could possibly change but if it ever did I would choose to exit this life rather than succumb to the mundane.

I work as a gardener and I marvel at things that other people are disgusted by, I once found a tree growing out of somebody's toilet overflow (no nutrients there, how did it do it?) And every time I find a foot long worm I have to show the old lady whose home I work at. She said to me, 'you're showing me this as if you've found gold but it's disgusting!'
It's a foot long worm though!

We are swamped by the banal. The immediate sensory gratification of the media. Personally, I'd rather go into nature or an art gallery and not have my senses assaulted.

Besides, the incoherent babbling of children (not actual children but the ones in the media) is of no interest.

True, keeping that child-like wonderment is important. Without it, what's the point?

Based on what I know about you, you should like being who you are.
