I Am a Victim of Domestic Violence

Today was my first time experiencing domestic abuse. He slapped me and pushed me on the floor and took my daughter. I fought with all my night to get her back she was so afraid. Then he grabbed me by the throat I fought back as much as I could while I watched my daughter scream and cry. I couldn't breathe I couldn't even say anything. I thought I was going to die. He then threw all my belongings into the hallway all the neighbours stood and watched and said nothing as I scampered on the floor to pack my things. I had to walk past everyone, they all stared and said nothing. It felt like a walk of shame but now as I think of it it was a walk of victory. I could have died, I could have stayed but I took my daughter and left.
