I Struggle With Life

People like to say that in order to lead an overall happy and positive life that we must do away with everything we struggle with. Is that really true or even possible? One can make the case that some struggles must be managed or resolved, especially those that are self-inflicted. It is a struggle “as we see it” but it's built around our perceptions. As humans we all live with a sense of duality. To struggle is a part of life. Even if we manage to resolve some of them, something else will appear to challenge us. We are born little anarchists where everything exists to appease our immediate needs. The only struggle in our lives is making sure those needs are met though we have no conscious awareness of this. The innate biological need to survive is paramount. As we mature our mind and emotions work together to meet the troubles that inevitably come our way. Struggles are hard and no one wants them, but it very well might be what we need to gain greater emotional intelligence. We can take those struggles and learn from them and be thankful when they pass us by, or we can let them put us under as the weight of them piles on. Struggles let us make choices between right and wrong. Struggles build character. If you say to yourself, “I’ll be happy as soon all these problems go away," well that day will never come. Practice kindness. Find bits of happiness wherever you can and struggle on. Just struggle on.

Well spoken my friend. As we’ve learned from nature, reduction of a threat leads to loss of a defense which leaves us vulnerable. Only the struggle can help keep our defenses intact. And one of those defenses is the ability to cope. May your struggles reach a point where they no longer become a burden and affect your quality of life.

@Livingwell Thank you and nicely stated. I posted in this group, but I meant this more in a general sense and not as personal, though I do have struggles. :):)

@ravenwind43 That was my intent as well. In a general sense. I too can benefit from your insight. 😊
