I Hate Politicians Who Waste Peoples Money

They get free personal flights, free water and electricity, personal cellphone taken care of, enough of a car allowance for a BMW 3 series and that's after all of these "perks" have been heavily reduced. All of this while the power utility is on the brink of collapse with debt equal to half the state's budget.

And then people still ask why the country is going down the toilet. It's because politicians are always shielded from the consequences of their actions.

I thought the impeachment process was a mechanism that shows politicians aren't always shielded from their actions? The other thing that is a big equaliser for politicians, is the vote? People keep voting for the same people, so in a way, the public still believes that these politicians are doing something right?

Next to that, if a politician would tell it's voters: "this is what we need to do" , and "this is what need to do" means that the voter needs to do some self-sacrificing... the politician ussually doesn't win. People still get what they voted for, and rather believe it's own lies and push problems down the road.

It's way to easy to point the finger just at the politician... while a big part of the responsibility actually lies with the public. The politicians are mainly a materlisation of what lives in society. The people still get the politicians they deserve/voted for.
