That the party’s switched is just a lie, a convoluted story they made up. It makes no sense at all, but since it’s been around since the 60s or maybe longer people buy into it.
In any event there are racists band violent nuts on both sides. There is enough hate to go around. The democrat party has been slowly taken over by left wing progressive people and it no longer is what it once was.

@Driver2 @Driver2 WTF are you talking about? No one is saying that one party gets up and tells the other "OK, now you take over these congressional seats and our platform, and we'll take yours." Of course it is the party majorities that switch in the states, and it happened to the point where most of the people who would have been Republicans became Democrats, and Vice Versa. Some politicians switched parties--John Connolly was a Texas Democrat who became a Texas Republican in this era. So when you say Lincoln was a Republican, that is true, but he wouldn't recognize Republicans today. He'd be closer to a Democrat politically in this day and time.
