I Got The Cane At School

Well, actually I didn't, but I thought I was going to. I was 10 or 11 and I was caught out of bounds during the lunch break. The mistress who caught me sent me to stand outside the head's study. I thought she was going to ask the headmistress to cane me, but in fact I just got a detention. Maybe it would have been better if I had been caned ...

@Pop0159: Well, I don't know. I hated detentions. If it had only been a couple of strokes ... I actually think a few whacks with a slipper would have been the most appropriate punishment, but that wasn't officially an option at my school.
