I Got The Cane At School
In my case it was the strap. We had to bend over in front of the class and get whacked on the seat of our trousers. The pain was excruciating but the humiliation even worse. The only thing it taught me was to hate!

We got the slipper in class. Boys got it through their trousers but we had to lift our skirts to have it on our knickers.
Canings were given in the headmaster's, deputy headmistress's, or year heads' studies. Again, boys got it through their trousers but we got it on our knickers.
