I was an apprentice candlemaker for a while...
we would (very carefully) make up big batches of huge fancy candles,then go down to the city for a few days and sell them.Some of our accounts were with reputable gift shops,C.O.D.-then we would take the rest of the stock and set up in the corner of various dive bars (freebies for the staff) then we would proceed to get totally wasted and spend nearly everything we had getting even more blitzed and meeting crazy girls,giving them crazy discounts...then go limping home to a very disgruntled co-owner/wife and set of unpaid bills.I think part of my job was supposed to be keeping him in line? oops.Not my most productive apprenticeship-I left after a few more crazy runs,we always managed to court disaster.
Those things sold well,though.
oh,yeah-candles! they are nice... hypnotique,romantique. ancient tallow wisdoms.
