I Thought I had Cancer

Last month I started coughing up blood. Not just streaks in my spit, but actual blood. Sometimes clots. For a week! Having been a smoker, I of course feared the worst. A week later I had a CT scan. The week leading up to that I don't think I've been so scared - even started to make plans if the worst transpired. The days after the scan weren't much easier. My doctor finally called with the results...there was inflammation but nothing to indicate cancer. I was so relieved I nearly wept. There are still some follow up scans to happen in a month or so, but it looks like it's a condition that has been seen in vapers and COVID-13 patients (not had it) amongst others. The bleeding has stopped, but I get a little anxious with each cough now. I can't comprehend what people who have been through similar ad then have a cancer diagnosis must go through. At the moment I feel very fortunate.

Jesus, I’m glad it wasn’t something more serious but that still sounds unpleasant :/
