I Tired of Materialistic Commercial Holidays

There are ways of turning this into a blessing for you and for others, like for instance, getting involved with an orphanage, and supporting them or sending money for special occasions, of even visiting if you are close enough, also there might be a childrens home that is close to you, that you could visit, and maybe even pick up a couple of the children and take them out for a treat, every now and then, making them feel special. Or if you knit, crochet, or sew, how about making a warm pair of mittens for the homeless? Or some warm socks, if you do not know where to give them out there is always the Salvation Army, they might not go to the homeless but who ever gets them will appreciate the effort you put into them, or how about volunteering to help a church or group to cook and prepare a meal for the holidays, for the homeless or the disadvantaged? Reaching out is always helpful to overcome the materialism and everyone will be blessed due to your efforts..
