The deadbolt is in effect
Silence wraps around my neck
Wishing I could fall into the sky
The kitten on the poster
Is still clinging by a cuticle
Yet it could never give a reason why
So I looked at every angle
Searching for a sense of purpose
Realizing that I'm right where I began
Seems my failures are impeccable
This insight is unbearable
The more I know, the less I understand
Now gravity is in effect
I'm running out of breaths to catch
Wishing I would sink into the ground
Like screaming loud in outer space
I never seem to leave a trace
I'm lost without a hope of being found
Plummeting to terra firma
