I Want You To Write A Poem Off-the-cuff Right Here Right Now

One day you left your home, among
with all you hated most
You left old lullabies unsung
And swore you'd lose your mother tongue
As your small, shaking hands still clung
to one life free of ghosts.

After the ghosts had been released,
You filled up all the holes.
You got a life of mostly ease,
And never knew you paid big fees
For ghosts are mostly memories
And languages are souls.

So now you see me sitting
Right here looking at my screen,
How shiny is it looking
At me sitting at my screen?

I can tell you that it's dull,
I can tell you my neck hurts,
But you tell me you see beauty,
In the words I write, unsung.

We describe one situation,
Adding our own beliefs,
One living it and breathing,
The other watching and believing.

If only we could marry,
Those two different lives,
That the one who lives and breathes,
Also watches and believes...
