I Am Going to Say Something Controversial

Not really controversial just a question

If The us has separation of church and state

Why in court rooms are you still sworn on via bible ?

The same thing is done when a president first gets into office , so i guess I’d be inquiring whether or not this is by choice , or if this is a rule .

Idk. Yes, we are a predominantly Christian nation (as in more than half the citizens say they are of a Christian faith). I am a Christian. But our forefathers felt passionately about freedom of religion bc of all the bloodshed and fear tactics people used in the name of Christ. Jefferson defended a group of Muslims in the 1700’s and many didn’t.

This nation is NOT a Christian nation. It’s supposed to embrace all belief systems as long as no one is being abused. Sadly, the majority of Americans Christians are narrow minded and often show no love which is what Christ was all abourt.

If Jesus were here today, he would not be hanging with the contemporary Christian. His company would be the impoverished, the rejected and the minorities. So, basically he’s be eating with gays, transgenders, illegal aliens and all the other people that contemporary white Christians seem to hate.

‘Nuff said.

@MalteseFalconPunch Yeah. Swearing an oath is a sin according The Christ. People are ignorant.
