I Have a Beautiful Daugher

Who just told me that to support herself through college she is thinking about becoming a bartender

On the face of it I was like ohhhhh noo way in hell. But
At least it’s a plan and not a bad one at That.

Any thoughts or insights from other female bartenders would be appreciated

I was a bartender a few years back, and I hated it. Mostly due to my social anxiety and fear of drunk people and confrontations. But, also because my coworker (also a female bartender) demanded I wore makeup and showed skin (white shirt, nothing underneath, unbuttoned halfway down)

I felt like a prostitute showcasing myself for tips.

@SW-User thank you for your insight.

@St0ut It's not an occupation I'd recommend anyone, but I know some people like that job. It depends on one's personality I suppose.
Considering her young age, I assume she doesn't have much (if any) experience with intoxicated people and bars. She might be in for a shock if she follows through with her plan. Maybe trying to come up with some other alternatives would help her find something more suitable?

@SW-User her long term is to become an author. ( Which she already is. With 16 copies of her book sold on amazon already)
Yes I know it’s small but.

At the same time she didn’t say stripper. Lol.

I have a daughter who I struggled to get past year 12, I Was thinking college but she went to work at her local RSL , I thought she wanted to travel Overseas sigh, I let it go, she’s on the one side of the bar that I’ve never been.... and that’s awesome, and it’s better than ok. She’s already gone O.S and still has a job.
