Football legend Jack Charlton has died. He was 85 [I Soccer]

BBC News reports that World Cup winner Jack Charlton O.B.E/D.L has died.
He was 85.

He played professional football for Leeds United (1950-'73) and accomplished 773 appearances in club colours. Spanning a 23 year professional career.

35 caps for his country and 6 goals. Not bad for a Defender.

His honours include One League Cup winners medal in '68.
One F.A.Cup winners medal in '72.
Two UEFA cup winners medals in '68 and '71
One World Cup winners medal '66

He also guided The Republic of Ireland to it's first major international finals tournament in 1988 as well as taking them to their first World Cup finals in Italy in 1990.

He had spells in charge as Manager of Sheffield Wednesday; Middlesborough; and Newcastle

@SW-User Yep one way or another we're starting to lose our heroes.

I rather liked Jack. I think his Brother is seen as 'A gentleman of the game' and jacks achievements seemed to get lost on occasions.

I think his analysis of international games was.....interesting (he wasn't one for pulling his punches if he thought something was amiss)and that was refreshing since the age of P.C presenters took over.
