There’s no good way to start so I’ll simply start.

Several weeks ago I began feeling something wasn’t quite right within me. The feeling was mild at first then increased gradually. The only way to describe it is I felt well not quite right; the inside of my body felt odd.
A teleconference with my doctor led to x-rays. The follow up teleconference consisted of “I don’t like what I saw - let’s do a biopsy.”
The results came in and here’s what we know.

It’s malignant and it has metastasized.

Like most of you I want all the facts: No sugar coating required and no drama. The doctor knows that so I’m grateful he was straightforward and told me I’m solidly in Stage Four - when asked roughly how long I have left the answer was “Based on where it is now and the rate it’s spreading you’re probably looking at mid to late February.”

I feel lucky to have this exit as opposed to being hit by a car while crossing the street or suffering a fatal heart attack or stroke. However I have made a vow not to suffer any longer than I absolutely have to.

So much I feel I should say but I’ll leave that in the form of answers to any questions or responses to comments you may have. Please keep in mind I tire easily so if I don’t reply quickly that’s why.

Thank you.
Miram · 31-35, F
I wanted to tell you to see another doctor and to fight for more time. But I think it's not fair to project my needs unto you.

This is heart wrenching and painful to accept. And I honestly wish it was me rather than you. You did so much good in this world and you will always be a part of it.

I hope the rest of your journey is peaceful and you will be surrounded by love until your last breath and beyond.

This really sad news. With everything going on in this messed up world, news like this makes everything so unimportant. I like your attitude in asking a straight forward answer from the doctor. Time becomes the most important thing right now, I'm truly sorry, you're one of the few good ones.

Oh wow. I am so sorry to hear your news my friend. It saddens me to think of how many times you make me laugh - on my posts or elsewhere - and that we aren’t going to have that laughter to tide us much longer. On the other hand - I understand that original time estimates aren’t always accurate, and a fighting spirit can make all the difference in that time you have. Again, this is awful news. I’m so sorry.

I’m at loss for words.
We’ve never really interacted directly but I’ve seen you on the feed.

It takes strength of spirit to embrace this reality the way you do. It’s not easy. I hope you will always find comfort knowing there are people whose lives are richer because of your presence. 💕

There’s an article on Daily Mail about a man from my state, Oklahoma, who was getting treated at MD Anderson center in Texas for cancer. The treatment had cost over $1.5 million dollars up to that point. The doctor told him he had up to 3 months to live. Someone else told him about an experimental treatment that a medical researcher used on her own cancer & it cured her. He decided to try it himself and within 3 months the doctors could find no signs of cancer in his body. What was this treatment? A dog de-wormer, it cost the man $7 a week for treatment. I highly recommend you read this article. His name is Joe Tippens and two years later they can find no tumors in him.

@seeandhear they may have done a follow up, I read the original article. I hope you heal. I’ve read a long time ago that cancer is a parasite. It makes sense that an anti-parasitical could cure it. I’ve known 3 people who were cured with alternatives. My father was one of them, he went to a medicine woman in Arizona for treatment.
I'm going to miss you so much and our time together, those moments of laughter and the more serious chats. I thank you for always confiding in me and sharing what was paramount in your mind. Above all your amazing long lasting friendship, it's been an honour and privilege to know you.

One day as promised I'll meet you somewhere in a place and time where pain is non-existent and happiness and laughter prevails forever. We'll share a drink and reminisce about everything. This is not the end it's simply the beginning of a new and amazing chapter in your journey onwards. Until we meet again my dearest friend. Love you always.❤️💋🤗

There’s no words I can add, not when so many have expressed the same emotions I felt hearing this as their own. Just know it has been a pleasure connecting with you in this little way that wouldn’t have even been possible in past generations, and how honored I am to continue to carry you with me, your strength and compassion always being such an inspiration to me. May peace, comfort, and love blanket you during this time.

You’ve been a warm and gentle presence to me. I liked knowing you were out there in the world, and now I’m sad that the world is losing you. I hope you go in painless peace, dear. I know four people who died of terminal cancer this past year, one a close friend I've known for a decade. I don't know if the rates are skyrocketing or its just been a run of shit luck.

Find what joy you can with the people you have. Decide how you want to spend your last months and do it as much as your energy levels will allow.

I'm so sorry.

@seeandhear I have a close friend who is in a similar position as you. She is the strongest person I know and three years after her diagnosis, she is the person I always knew...no self-pity, no evident sadness. She lives life to the full as much as she can. And her wanting to go on as normal has helped her to do just that.

You are an inspiration 🕊️

It's hard to know the right words to say, when hearing or reading such sad news. I am so sorry? I am.

Like you, I would prefer to know at least a little ahead of time, if my time left was definitely limited to an estimated time frame. Those estimated time frames though, are often way off, as in people defy the 'odds'. I am so sorry, seeandhear.
