I Want to Change the World

Since the day we are born we are told that there is something “wrong” with us.

Religion/relationship with a higher power says that we are born corrupted sinners. After we leave the womb we are evaluated on our weight, height, how much we eat/drink, etc. If we cry too much, they say, “Stop crying.” From the beginning we are manipulated to some ideal image on a pedestal collectively believed to be true by majority.

We are always told to be faster, look prettier, to get in better shape, it never stops. They always want you to “grow” into the ideal they have of you in their minds, instead of accepting you for who you are now.

As always though, we are only wanted as long as we are pleasing, productive, and harmless. We are only wanted if we are convenient. And that hurts. It hurts that we constantly have to prove ourselves to others or put up with their complaints and disappointment on our behalf. The thing is, all of us have that in common though. Every single one of us has to perform up to expectations in order for people to not talk shit. Besides even when we are 100% people still talk shit about us, if they can’t find something wrong with us they make something up. In trying to survive we all struggle because we have to put up with people, and people have desires, and when your desire contradicts another person’s desires, well that is where all conflict comes from. You want to survive, well they do too, and here comes the battle.

What if we could tell others the words we wish we heard from someone else? What if you went home and wrote little notes saying what you wish someone said to you and then you left them anonymously wherever you go? Do you think it might give people that extra boost, to feel like this note was meant to be for them?

Who wants to join me in writing positive notes and leaving them at grocery stores, restaurants, bathrooms, wherever you are; and in the back write #inspire others.

If all of us are broken from being told how we always do it all “wrong”, let’s leave encouraging words anonymously wherever we go to make people feel as they’ve always wanted to feel all their lives: worthy, special, accepted, beautiful.

Thank you for joining me in this effort to make this world a better place through using our words! 😊
