I Appreciate Day Of The Dead Art

My birthday falls on El Dia de Los Muertos, and having lived close to the US/Mexico border most of my life, it's always been there, and I'm glad it falls on my birthday. For one, it's ironic...birthday on The Day of the Dead. It serves to emphasize how short life is, and it's made me more comfortable talking about death and dying as a result. It is a day that I remember with fondness the friends and family that have passed on, and it's a day to celebrate the wonderful gift and miracle of life.

I plan on getting a turquoise Sugar Skull tattooed on my left shoulder. It will represent both my birthday and The day of the Dead. I've always been captivated by the brightly colored skulls and skeletons.

'Cruces is a pretty nice place to live. My favorite feature is the Oregon mountains, especially when you're descending into the Mesilla Valley. I've seen those mountains everyday for eleven years, and the light never hits them the same way twice.

I've been to/through AZ many times, and my favorite area is Flagstaff. It's very green and pretty up that way.

That sounds rather beautiful. I've always been fascinated with calaveras as well. Best wishes with the tattoo.
