I Got The Cane Or Slipper In The Sixth Form

I got the cane when was in the 6th form for being caught out of school during break time. The Head Girl caught me sneaking back in over a broken fence and took me straight to the Headmistress. There was nothing I could say in my defence and so took a sound caning across my bottom reducing me to a flood of tears.

Several of my peers and I got the the cane in 6th form for that too. More often though, we got the slipper for it.

@Sharon It was one of the big NO NOs at my school. I knew exactly what I was in for when I was caught

@shirleym56 We could almost certainly have got permission to go home to fetch homework.

I got the cane for going to the pub at lunchtime. ;)

@shirleym56 I had trouble sitting for a couple of days. ;) The alternative was suspension but that would have meant a worse, bare bottom, caning from my parents.

@DensieKay It was common when Jo and I were at school. CP was banned in UK state schools in 1986 so people here of your generation avoided it.

@Sharon Very few of the south U.S. still use CP in schools. Most of my generation no nothing of it.
