I Got The Cane Or Slipper In The Sixth Form

When I was in 6th form we were still liable to get the slipper or cane, just like in earlier years. We did have a choice though, the slipper or lines/detention and the cane or suspension. I think almost all of us took the sore bottom option every time, I know I always did.

@Strawberrymilk: I hated detentions. We had to take our punishment book home, get our parents to sign it, then serve our sentence a day or two later. I'd have preferred a few quick whacks with a slipper, I think.
I hated detentions too. We didn't have punishment books to take home or anything like that, I just hated the boredom and resented the waste of time.

Yes, me too. Sitting in silence absolutely still facing the front!
I remember that. The slightest misbehaviour, such as making a sound or even just looking out of the window, could earn you a slippering so you ended up worse off than being slippered for the original offence.
