I Got The Cane Or Slipper In The Sixth Form

When I was in 6th form we were still liable to get the slipper or cane, just like in earlier years. We did have a choice though, the slipper or lines/detention and the cane or suspension. I think almost all of us took the sore bottom option every time, I know I always did.

Never any choice for us, even in the sixth form. And suspension was regarded as a more serious punishment than the cane. So when a boy in my class was discovered writing racist slogans (in fourth form I think) he was suspended, not beaten. Later he became Head Boy!
