I Hate Homework

I used to hate homework as a kid. Then I always was a bit lazy. I did have to bend over for the paddle more than once at school as I'd forgotten to bring it to the lesson or (more likely) forgotten to do it at all. With the help of some very diligent teachers and two caring parents I got into college but I still didn't like doing the work. Thankfully I then married a wonderful man who kept me on the straight and narrow through college. When I became a teacher, though, I felt a bit of a hypocrite for insisting kids did their homework!

I imagine that today you appreciate the homework you did and the lessons you learned willingly or reluctantly .. .. as a teacher it is your responsibility to provide the same opportunities to your students .. .. you don't have to like everything you do as a teacher but yiu still do them as they were done to you .. .. I doubt your teachers enjoyed asigning homework, giving grades, spanking when earned .. but they still did them .... now that you are a teacher and donthe same the fact that you didn't enjoy it as a child does not make you a hypocrite for doing the same now .. .. ..
