I Love Books

We have a house full of physical books, really more than we should be trying to give space to. And I am also collecting quite a few books on my Kindle, since it is deals with the problem of space in the house and is also a wonderfully portable way to take books on a trip. I just discovered that many of the Kindle books I own have updates available and all I have to do is click a box to change to the latest version! I did it, but not without a paranoid misgiving. What if a day comes when almost all of the books that everyone owns are actually digital books? What if some dishonest government wants to change the historical record? Done with a click!

I have never read a book on a Kindle or other device. I am a big time reader, but only the real deal. My house looks like a library!

@Poppies We try to get rid of books once in a while, but frankly, it's hard! 📖

@CoffeeFirst My husband doesn’t want to get rid of any books except sometimes, MINE.

@Poppies Yeah, that's about par for the course when you are married!

And it makes book burning a breeze

I don't know about you, but I can't get rid of a physical book after I've read it. Mind you, I tend to revisit most of my books whenever I can.

I'm thinking of getting a Kindle. Any advice?

@Poppies Thanks. I really appreciate your advice. I will probably get an advertisement free Kindle Fire.

@greenmountaingal I've got the Kindle app on my smartphone. That way I only have to carry one device with me. While I love physical books, the ability to carry a small library with you is something I find quite convenient.

@Bushranger I live in one rented room. I am learning to downsize everything and take up as little space as possible.
