I Love My Dad With All My Heart
He is 91 and very stubborn. He just won't take no for an answer.
He loves the countryside and used to love going out in the woods or in the country by himself. At times he used to spend all day out in the countryside. He loves nature.
10 years ago when I was in a medical conference in Perugia Italy my sister called me saying that my father had left home at 7 in the morning and they were worried that he had not come back at 5 in the evening. So, my sis drove about the country lanes where she imagined he would be but to no avail.
To cut a long story short, while he was coming back home he hadva TIA ( transient ischemic attack ) and became very confused and lost his memory and so,eone saw him in a state of confusion and called an ambulance. My sis found him in hospital after having phoned a few hospitals nearby.
He recovered slowly but went back to being stubborn and wanting to do what he did when he was 20.
His attitude causes conflict with my mother that does not want him to go anywhere far alone now. Understandably so.
He takes offence so it's quite hard to keep his stubborness under check.
He has been repeating these last few days that he wants to go into the country to look for and pick wild asparagus.
So, sunday morning, I will be going along with him. He is not too happy about that. But it's my responsablity in doing so.
He has a right to enjoy nature and I the obligation in making sure that he gets to have his day in nature.
I love nature too. I have work to do but I'll set that aside for him. Because I love him so.
So, hopefully tomorrow we will find a bunch of these :)
