I Disagree With Childrens Beauty Pageants

The worst of it is, they sexualize toddlers. It's truly disgusting. And the parents say it's all the child's idea. Well sure, what child doesn't like playing dress up? But I doubt it's the child's idea to work her ass off when she should be simply growing up naturally. Playing, getting dirty, seeing who can swing highest at the playground.

I agree. I wouldn't want my girls to think they have to be that made up to be the most beautiful girl in the room. And what about the kids that never win? How does that make them feel about themselves? And the kids who win all the time... It must go to their heads.

AND it's fucking creepy. Little girls dressing up in outfits that's way too provocative.

Not to mention the fact that their childhood has been stolen.

Silver wings, did they ever discover the truth of who killed JonBenet Ramsey? Still not sure the beauty pageants really had anything to do with her death. Many small children are murdered who never went on stage in their lives. She might have been killed even if she weren't a beauty queen.

Silver, I'm not saying you're wrong. It very like was, but my only point was that lots of little girls who have been in beauty pageants weren't murdered, and lots of little girls who have been murdered were ever in beauty pageants.

Serenitree ~ I do not believe the killer was ever found, but I will always believe the sexualization of the child was the reason for her death.

There so many thins wrong with those pageants. It's just creepy that a woman would even want her daughter to dress like that. Just creepy.
