I Am An Electrician

Ever wonder how those ethernet cables are made? I'll show you.

First you strip off the sheath, untwist and straighten each set of conductors, smooth them out, and slide them into the head. They have to be in a specific order depending on what they're going to be plugged into

Then you use this tool to crimp the head on and cut the conductors flush

Then you use this tester to check for shorts (breaks in the wire) and to see if the conductors are in the right order. This one is ready to go.

I didn’t know there was a tester for this.

I did some office remodels. My electrician ran miles of that Stuff. I always wondered how he could tell if an old line was good or not. @Eternity

@Jasondf if that was back before the days of push-through heads and crimpers then I feel sorry for him.

See how I stripped out lots of extra wire and just pushed it through then cut it with that tool? Couldnt do that back then.

You had to trim each little wire exactly the length it had to be to go flush into the head with none sticking out the back either.

Glad I missed that shit lol. I was made to do it once for tradition's sake and fuck that.

He was very quick. So I’m guessing he had all the toys. @Eternity
