CPS is inadequately funded like most state programs.

@Pfuzylogic I remember the news report when they were. Becsuse of too many complaints they were too aggressive when investigating legitimate call ins, many states cut their budgets.

I think CPS is an excellent program to give abusive parents a heads up.
It isn’t like it use to be when neighbors would ignore abuse.
It is called in now.

@Pfuzylogic I wish CPS had paid better attention when my mother's second husband used to beat the hell out of me, my mother always told them it was my fault every time I called in. The last time they were called was when a neighbor woman notified them that he busted my nose and lip and my face was all bloodied, they ignored her, and my mother threw me into foster care over that, choosing her second husband over me. I was 16 at the time.

I interacted with a guardians home which it wasn’t. My dad used a board for discipline and back then black bruises were considered “strict discipline”. He wouldn’t have gotten away with it now but programs like CPS are better than nothing which I had.

[@sorry I’m saying exactly what he just said. Not all parents who spank children are abusing them. Lots of parents know when to stop. For parents like mine it was more of a I’ll bust your ass before they get here deal. I only said that when she was yelling usually lol

I am careful in understanding what is shared. I assume no presumptions.
When it deteriorates to that point the parent has lost control and more than likely haven’t mastered discipline in the first place.

It’s terrible parenting to loose control. We usually had to wait a while to be disciplined until mom calmed down. She talked to us spanked us then lectured us more.

I plan to raise my children the same way. Spankings are rare but serious. And they teach a good lesson. They were only used for severe things. Also the lack of spanking is largely responsible for these disrespectful, idiotic melenials

I suggest measures before it turns critical. Today if you leave marks it becomes assault charges.

@Pfuzylogic As a child of abuse I recognize abuse, and understand that CPS is needed for that, but even Freud said, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Marks are bruises and cuts which demonstrate a parent needs help.
A child is not a punching bag.

[@Ik what a mark is lol. A child should NEVER be bruised after a spanking. My mom did 3 swats usually. My rear was a little red for maybe a few minutes.
