I Admire Gandhi

I don’t like anyone being called “ignorant”. The “correct” word or phrase would be, ‘those who see things differently’.

I agree with this quote in that we should speak our minds, be ourselves, and be genuine in the artistic expression of who we are.

No one is ignorant. Some just haven’t experienced, witnessed, thought about certain things, or been taught as we have. Someone may have a different perception, a different definition of reality, but it doesn’t make them “ignorant” if they think differently from you and I. They’re just... different.

Truth. How would one define this word with anything other than what we can perceive with our senses, mainly of sight and hearing. A repeated pattern we note through our senses that brings us to a conclusion, like the scientific method. We have our hypothesis, then our experiments (experiences) which guides us to our conclusions. Our perception is limited though. Limited to the here and now, to historical records we weren’t there to witness, limited to our senses, our mind, agreed upon perceptions, limited to what we can note on this here earth. But the greater scope of objective reality, the one beyond our senses, beyond our perception, is truly unknown to us. As Socrates said the wisest thing and most humble thing to say is “I don’t know.”

Am I a relativist? Not really. I think we happen to have minds with similar ways of perception, with our senses, and we collectively come to very many of the same conclusions. All I’m saying is there are unknowns outside of the scope of my limited perception. I think it takes honest humility to not try to manipulate and force ourselves to think existence is all orchestrated on our behalf and for our benefit, but instead to say with honesty... there are things we can know, we can feel, things we can know beyond a reasonable doubt, and then there is that outside of our grasp; that we will always attempt to grasp and define, and yet is undefinable.
