You can't change them.

You can't help someone who doesn't want help. This has been a lesson taught to me over and over again. If you're going through this I'm sorry. It is really hard to let go of people who you love dearly but they wont change until they have seen how their actions have affected others. Some times walking away is the best thing for everyone involved.

Sadly, you’re absolutely right. I’ve experienced this with family and friends. You can only offer advice if it’s asked for and be there to pick up the pieces when the person involved crashes and burns. Otherwise, best to keep one’s distance.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit I am not currently going through this but I just felt a need to speak my mind on the matter. Ive lost a lot of people i love to drugs and alcohol. I hope she changes for you and for herself.
