I Guest Book

A long visit with my best and closest friend ended this morning when she suddenly threw me out. It was due to a misunderstanding that had its roots in my bad hearing (my hearing aids are in the shop being fixed).

I believe I was there as her houseguest for 12 days; she says it was a month. Maybe it just felt like a month to her.

It was very sad and discouraging. I am now in a motel about 200 miles away. I have a long time friend in this town as well but I chose a motel this time as I will always in the future. I will never risk being a house guest anywhere again.

The misunderstanding happened last night. I thought my explanation/apology last night had cleared it up. But this morning early when I was barely awake, my friend walked into my room and told me to get out immediately. I packed at top speed and fled. I was scared of what she would do if I argued or hesitated. She is/was my closest and best long time friend. I'm deeply shaken.

So what was the ‘misunderstanding’ that caused you to fall out?

@BalmyNites I ate something in the fridge I wasn't supposed to eat. For various reasons, I'd misunderstood and thought it was OK to eat it. I didn't mean to disrespect her or her household. But that's how she saw it.

@greenmountaingal It seems she overreacted greatly if that’s the case, along with the fact she says you were in her house for a month, but you think it was just 12 days. Also, that she should literally throw you out of her home when she’s your best friend & you fled the house, afraid of what she might do, simply because you mistakenly ate some food from the fridge? Maybe wait for the dust to settle & talk to her when you’ve both cooled down & had time to think.

@BalmyNites I will do that.
