I Give You A Year
1998... Okay Mrs. Lala... This turned out to be a good year for me actually.
Having tried for a few years in trying to get a better job out of the potato warehouse that I was working in and the constant colds from the -40 weather with a car that should have been totaled. I got a call from my current employer and he was saying that he was flying out from Boston to Boise to interview me. Out of the clear blue it came. By Feb I had the job and went to work and a week later had my family (2 kids at the time with a wife) moving out. Of course she bitched me out that I didn't have an apartment lined up yet, hard to do when you get thrown into working 16 hours a day all week long.
So got an apartment and a month later we started moving into our house. The first house we owned and it was a great one. A good two bedroom with a hot tub in the back with a good yard. It was a great place. Lived there for the next few years. So it was a good year with a new job, new direction, new house.
The rest of the year was so good that I bought my wife (at the time) a new car, mini van for us to take the two kids around in and got rid of my P.O.S. That was a great Christmas as well.
Just a good year of work and feeling out of things that we didn't own to things that we did.
