I "Got The Belt" When I Was A Kid

At my home, the belt hung in a nail in the bathroom. If I was asked by mates, I denied it was used on my bottom. At my mates' homes, the belt hung sometimes in the entrace hall or even in their rooms. They could not denay what for it was there. A belt hanging at view acts as a warning signal or as a deterrent against misbehaviour.

In my home the belt stayed around my parent's waist unless they were about to use it, except on the rare occasion mom didn't have hers, she normally did though and then she'd go upstairs to get it, there was no destinated spanking belt, so nothing hanging to ask questions about. At my friend A's house there was a gift shop type paddle with some silly poem on it hanging on the kitchen wall, but it was just there for looks, their dad kept the paddle he used on them in an upstairs closet. I don't think I ever saw an actual implement on display in anyone's home that got used that is.

Not in the bathroom or the living room, but in the kitchen. That was where my cane was kept.
