My trip to Brussels is just about half way done and I almost forgot a promise I made to one of my most awesome friends, @Vivaci! She asked me to take pictures of some of the food I've been eating over here. Well, I've had some quite good food for sure, but tonight was quite the fancy dinner and the food was just about the best dinner I've ever had.
[b][i][c=#003BB2]Soup[/c][/i][/b] I chose to start with the bouillabaisse with crouton and saffron rouille. I didn't take a pic of the rouille & crouton which was served on the side, but here is the bouillabaisse.

[i][b][c=#003BB2]Main Course[/c][/b][/i] For the main, there were several options that we could choose from. The restaurant was one that prided itself on sourcing as much as possible with 100km of Brussels and the lamb just sounded so yummy.
On the menu it was described as "Eifel" lamb steak with white bean cassoulet, bacon and burnt savoy cabbage.

[i][b][c=#003BB2]Dessert[/c][/b][/i] Ugh, sorry! I forgot to take a picture of dessert. Actually, I did remember, but I had eaten half of it by the time I thought of it and that just wouldn't be right. But it was Green Apple variation with Earl Grey & miso Shortbread. Oh!My!Goodness! Sooooo yummy.

Belgium is a beautiful country and Brussels is an awesome city. It is considered the Capital of Europe since the HQ of the EU is here. I've toured some of their buildings before on a previous trip, so this time I visited the new headquarters of NATO and took an all-too-brief tour.
I'll be back home in the States late on Monday and back here more often. For now, I hope you all have fun plans for the weekend. :)
Memories but that was back in 1983 for me. We had just crossed the English Channel and landed in Brussels. It was such a beautiful and older place compared to the skyscrapers of the US.
@sarabee1995 If it wasn’t for that statue, the only memories I would have of Brussels would have been lace and chocolate and oh yes, the old NATO building.

@Vivaci Of course you can come! I'd love company. :) The soup was really good, a little salty for my tastes, but still really good. It was my first time trying bouillabaisse and I know it is supposed to be salty, so idk, maybe it was perfect. But the LAMB!!! Omg it was awesome as was everything on that plate! I could've eaten three portions! :)
