God, just as I was about to make me some tea I heard footsteps outside, then I said meh, it's just a cat or some neighborhood animal. Then, the neighborhood dog started barking incessantly so I went into the bathroom in order to hear better near the window what the hell was going on in the backyard. I heard screeching... Immediately I went outside holding my phone with the flashlight turned on, and there he was.
A thief, probably ten years younger than me, trying to break off one of the copper rainwater downpipe.
He seemed experienced, since you could actually bend that in two minutes' time. I yelled, "What the hell are you doing?" He just went nonchalantly and then started running into the nearby house, then disappeared. The pipe was damaged, so I bent it and took in the shed/workshop.
The most incredible part is that this thief was so dedicated that he even came back 25 min. later, and I was still standing there. 🤣 🧐🤳He ran away again...
I mean, what could he earn even if he sold that pipe, like 4-5 euros?
My personal belief is that his purpose might have been actually a vice or obsession than stealing.
