Cutting people off is the hardest thing for me.

I'm just me and I've struggled to be someone different many times but I thing age has given me the gift of acceptance and the realization that it's ok that I am not meant for everyone and visa versa.

I'm the same way, but really, I wouldn't want to be anything else. I do, on occasion, decide I'm over it too, but I never stay there. It's ok to be better to people than they are to you, I would rather that than look in the mirror and see a shitty friend.

Good because the only way to change it is to be someone you're not but there is a limit and there is nothing wrong with nurturing the relationships that are more mutual and putting less effort into the ones that are not.
