I Missed You Today

Watching our 14 year little girl now blossoming into a beautiful young lady, warmed my heart so deeply that tears filled my eyes. I can tell she has become so mature, so confident and extremely wise over the past few years.
All dressed up she walked toward me smiling looking for a compliment, but all I could do was stare. So poised and beautiful I was mesmerized, I still am, this is my child. The one that has been through the toughest battles with me, standing strong by her mothers side. I can tell she had a good day, and I am glad I could make it special for her. Amidst all the guests, birthday cake, laughter and presents we managed to lock glances across the room, I felt an immediate pull at my heart, she was remembering him, so was I.

I missed you today, I guess all 4 of us did :(

@Misstutu - I agree, I try my hardest. I was only 20 when I had her still a baby myself. But with the guidance of my mother and my inlaws I have learned how to embrace mother-hood.
