@TheLastMan: I really don't think you understand what you are saying here. Serial killers are generally amoral sociopaths with no sense of empathy. These are not the results of raising well disciplined children who respect authority. If anything a serial killer is a product of genetics more than environment.

Such a great point! Here is how I see it: You can spend a long time talking to your child and trying to get them to see reason and understand the rules when frankly at their ages that requires a very well developed sense of morality and maturity that most kids don't have. Or the second option is to do as this card suggests and turn them over your knee and get their attention through a sore bottom. Once that initial stubbornness and childish attitude has been eliminate they are much more receptive to learning from what you have to tell them. Why do things the hard way when the old and well established way works so well?
