I Have No Tolerance For Bullshit

To all the fascists, racists, homophobes and the rest scum of the Earth, wondering why people don't tolerate their bullshit and why they're not allowed to practice hate speech freely, even though we're supposed to be democratic:
Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them. [...] We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant.
-Karl Popper
Rayce · M
I just don't get the Pride Parades where theres fully naked people and a naked guy bending over and spreading his butt cheeks in front of young children. It seems weird they have the right to do that.
@Rayce Why are you bringing your kids if you don’t want them to see that?
Sounds like the Antifa motto.
okaybut · 56-60, M
The only issue I can see is the subjective interpretation of intolerance.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@okaybut Antonio Gramski, the grandfather of all this thought literally had the view of ‘anything that allows a society that I don’t control to function is fascist’. It’s a demonic doctrine that destroys any kind of functioning group under the guise of good intentions.
ShadowDancer · 41-45, M
So, people that hate people, are the people that you hate. :-)
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Democracy doesn't work.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@GeistInTheMachine as Isocrates said: "Because those who governed the city at that time (meaning ancient Athens, when democracy was born), did not create a polity which was considered the most liberal and mildest of all only in name, while in practice it appeared different to those who lived it; neither a government that educates its citizens to regard indecency as democracy, lawlessness as liberty, insolence as equality, and bliss as the power of each to do what they please, but a government that, showing its abhorrence to those who they did these things, and by punishing them, made all citizens better and wiser."
monellla731 · 46-50, M
may i ask how you got your name?
Carissimi · 70-79, F
This explains it. You are Woke.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Hell yeah! 🤘
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Would you be offended if I showed you my palm, like the hand gesture?

Lovely to see my comment was deleted by someone who apparently hates the intolerant.

The term ‘hate speech’ was invented by Trotsky to collectivize and divide his population and prevent dialogue between these groups which could lead to them unifying against his state. He then went on to genocide people on a racist basis.

If you believe in intolerance and not understanding how behaviors can lead to such horrible acts so we can avoid them, you’ll delete this post again.

I’ll repost it if you delete it though as I’m in a mix race relationship and am actually against racism. Meaning I’m against censoring information that can actually help fight racism.

okaybut · 56-60, M
@HannibalAteMeOut Oh...just debating you with this thought. Unfortunately for the above though, Popper disregarded dogma in any form. She has not mentioned communists (which Popper abhorred) and prejudice in any form. I am not sure Popper would agree with her statement, I don't have a sense of tolerance. With you being nice...I feel a bit bad (should have stated it more diplomatically). :(
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@okaybut so you expected to see communists in the post as well? I haven't mentioned misogynists or religious bigots either, does that mean I support ISIS?
And yeah, I didn't delete any comment, for your information.
okaybut · 56-60, M
@HannibalAteMeOut My issue is the current cultural narrative that focuses in on the areas you mentioned, but disregards other areas of destructive intolerance. For me the extremes on either side are just as dangerous (ie. Capitol vs Antifa riots, communism vs fascism, etc.) The only way for a functioning society is in the middle, and in view society is moving to tribalism on the destructive edges. Hitler killed millions, but so did Mao and Stalin. Antifa destroyed much more lives than the Capitol riot. It perplexes me why anyone would glorify one or the other, they are both a cancer on society. And you are right, you are not stating that those aspects are good, but you did not include them in your list of societal ills.

I agree with this. Lot of issues however arise when definitions of racism and bigotry are extended to include speech addressing beliefs or laws, instead of attacking people. Which is getting common more and more everyday in the western liberal discourse according to my experiences.

It is bizarre, having to experience both laws which institutionalize bigotry against you to the extent where killing you is legal and at the same time be accused of bigotry for opposing it because those who made the laws are victims in other societies.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Miram defending laws like that and defending governments is just too stupid, people over there are suffering and liberals are afraid of coming across as racists... We should address oppression wherever it's coming from!
Coppercoil · M
Must.. resist.. trolling.. my.. friend 😅
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Coppercoil do it
Coppercoil · M
@HannibalAteMeOut hell no.. i like you and i like kenji and we have so many mutuals.. i really do try and stay out if politics as mostly people agree more than they might like to ever admit, but just interpret words differently and make all kinds of assumptions based on whatever bias they and their personal circle of friends has. Its a minefield. Plus I wander all over the political spectrum at times.. i could be seen by many to be a nazi and then a commie.. amd then a nazi again.. all inside the span of a single sentence! Lol
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Coppercoil hahaha I understand 🤗
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
👀 But who/what woke you up so angry???
Nanori · F
@HannibalAteMeOut mon amour ☺️

@Nanori 😷 yeah but at least I'm an innocent slut..
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@AuRevoir cause Nanori is special 😌
I tolerate just about everything but intolerance.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@quitwhendone hah exactly, we have to protect society that way!
SW-User
Hey!! >:v

I represent the fascist, racist, homophobic community diaspora! And my claim is that YOU SUCK!!
Whaddya gotta say about THAT, huh??
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@SW-User ahhh somebody protect me from all that cuteness 😪
We're all manly AF compared to youuu 😌 cutieeee
SW-User

HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@SW-User I eat these for breakfast, boyyy! Such a cute attempt though!
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
You are too young with little life experiences and witness to all that you talk about. You're still a child.
You can't believe everything you read and definitely don't listen to the media about such subjects.
I'm sure you're a racist of some kind not liking the way certain people do things or live their lives.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Midlifemale what exactly do you think is wrong about what I said? Answer this withiut assuming things about me. If you wanted to offer something to the conversation, you definitely shouldn't have played the "wise old man" card.
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
👀
SW-User
Correct I'm intolerant of intolerance.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@SW-User hahah exactly!
Karl popper was totally right on this, these assholes act as if the Left isn't "truly tolerant" because they believe that to be tolerant we have to put up with Bigotry instead of supporting for instance the censorship of bigots.

Which is total bullshit. The truth of the matter is tolerating bigotry is cowardice, not Tolerance.
Seetie · 56-60, F
That means you are intolerant and you don’t tolerate the intolerant. 🤔
Seetie · 56-60, F
Yes, it reminds me of something I was posting recently. I wrote “I don’t tolerate bullies, I don’t tolerate violence and I don’t tolerate intolerance”

Then I thought about it.

I had to remove the last sentence because after saying I don’t tolerate all these things, I could not write “I do not tolerate intolerance! ! 😂

@HannibalAteMeOut
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@Seetie hahahaha
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Seetie This is why most sensible people take a more libertarian approach of "you can say whatever you like, believe whatever you like, just leave me out of it and also allow me to say and believe whatever i like". Any talk of ridding the world of so and so evil always has, and always will, lead to very nasty people imposing over others.
Oster1 · M
I would certainly agree.
Oster1 · M
I have lots of respect for you here. You are very intelligent and I always admire and am attracted to that!☺️@HannibalAteMeOut
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F

@BluntSm0ker so you're telling me that right wingers are fascists, racists and homophobics? Or that they tolerate them without second thought?
CheshireCatalyst · 36-40, M
Reminds me of Peep Show:

HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
Oh god you know Karl Popper. I share his outlook.

This wasnt new to me but Thank you. Especially because due to the way incentives work people are more likely to listen to you than moi on this one.
okaybut · 56-60, M

@ArcticDave Damn, this is outrageously cruel. WTF?
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@ArcticDave wow so edgy
Huh? But where is the bamboo?
Zonuss · 41-45, M
If only everyone here thought like you.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Or in simpler terms... move along 🤔
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@MartinTheFirst you got it right 😌

Holy cow. Your profile is lit. 🔥 😳

The term hate speech was literally invented by Trotsky to collectivize and divide his population to prevent them from uniting against his state. He then went on to massacre people on a racial basis.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
It's been my experience that the people who shout loudest about intolerance are the first to mock my disability. From my experience.
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@HannibalAteMeOut Yeah, I don't really get mocked by people who don't go on about this stuff. It's almost like projection, or some sort of compensation for burying their own prejudices.
Midlifemale · 61-69, M
@pianoplayingsteve yeah. I agree. If you are so out in the open and so loud about it, then seems like you are the intolerant one. As we age and experience all life's ups and downs, you'll have some sort of intolerant or racist views. But to be one of the loudest sounds like people can't tolerate you and you know it.
Thanks Steve
pianoplayingsteve · 31-35, M
@Midlifemale It's like this. Remember preacher Ted Haggard and his crusade against homosexuality? And then being caught doing drugs at a gay bar?
