meJess · F
what's the animal in the last pic?
Beachlover · M
Its called a quokka Jess , its a small marsupial sort of a cross between a large rat like creature which is isn't and a tiny and I mean tiny kangaroo, they inhabit and island of the coast of Perth , called Rottnest
meJess · F
He looks cute, are they friendly?
Beachlover · M
@meJess:
Yes Jess unfortunately to friendly and people take advantage of that a lot of drunken yobbos play what they call Quokka soccer and kick them around and last year 2 dutch tourists got a spray can and set fire to one , they are very inquisitive creatures
meJess · F
Poor quokkas, some people are horrible. Would love to see one, seen wallabi's in a wildlife park but not kangaroos or quokkas. I wonder why animals that jump are in Australia and why do they need to do that instead of run.
Beachlover · M

Ah cant answer that at all but here are 2 photos I took one night while at work the kangaroo is called a boomer which is a male roo he was nearly 6ft tall and ended up standing strait up and looking over the bonnet of my vehicle
Beachlover · M
He refused to move so had to get out and shoo him away
meJess · F
lol I've heard of a road hog but not a road roo :)
Beachlover · M
@meJess: Well out where I was is in the middle of know where about 1000 miles north of Perth in the bush and they stand on the side of the roads at night to have a feed on the grass and if your going to fast you have to be careful as they tend to jump in all directions and 9 out of 10 times it will be strait in front of a car or truck they get blinded by the head lights and just stand there.

The head looks like a deer, and deer do that here, wonder if they are related somehow
Beachlover · M
Nah not related at all, but ill see if I can find a few more photos of kangaroos and koalas not one I took though hang on ok

Beachlover · M
@meJess: Lol yeah it does a bit if you want to message me sometime ill see what I can do about finding some more photos for you ok
Beachlover · M
@meJess: The thing sitting on the koalas head is a possum
meJess · F
Seen possum before, those eyes are enormous, and a wombat, he was really relaxed like a house pet
Beachlover · M
@meJess: Yeah but you hit a wombat with your car they do a lot of damage and yes the possums have big eyes as they are normally a nocturnal creature
