I Am a Bookworm

My history with Books... I have always loved to read; my love of reading may be due to the Pizza Hut book-it program, or the fact that I went to the library very frequently when I was younger. Whatever gave me my love of reading is largely irrelevant, but by 8 years old, I had been bitten by the reading bug and the effects of that bug have stayed with me. I used to read a lot of fiction books by various authors including Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, Roald Dahl, David Adler, Cynthia Rylant and Donald Sobol. As I matured, I began to read more nonfiction and less fiction, but I did read the Left Behind series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins. I cared far less for reading fiction especially in school, but my favorite book from school, which I eventually purchased was The Giver by Lois Lowry. Sometime later, I became more of an omnivorous non-fiction reader and discovered authors like Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Andrew Napolitano and David Limbaugh. I managed to read the classic fiction work, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. The little bit of fiction that I read today is largely written by Jerry Jenkins, Tim LaHaye or Randy Singer. I have a huge collection of books in my home and my dream is to build a huge library, like the one that's seen in the Disney movie Beauty and the Beast.

Even though I love new technology, I still enjoy reading books in hardcover and I borrow a lot more books from the library than I purchase every year. I do have an e-reader on my phone, but I use it to reader older books or free books which I put on there. Until a major life change occurred, I used to read at least one book per week. Due to my major change, I'm only able to read about a book per month.
