The worst part of locking yourself out of your house is you learn how easy it is to break into it and are forever scared to ever leave it again.

I did that, but I had to get into my garage, which is secured, and then get out the tall ladder and climb up to a second floor window that I leave unlocked (I actually lock the door between my garage and house, but now have a code lock on that door). The key hidden in my garage had been used by a relative of mine to get in when I was out of town, and they forgot to put it back, hence the need for the ladder. I then had to get the screen out, without breaking it, open the window, climb through, and then get into the house.

No sooner did I get the ladder put away then a police car rolled up. My idiot neighbor reported someone breaking into my house, as if said burglar would have the EXACT same color and model car parked in the driveway as I own (not a very common color on that brand of car). He came running out and pointed in the garage and said to the cops "He's in there!" and I walked out and said "How long have you lived next door to me?" He was shocked and kept repeating to the cops that he really didn't know it was me and to please not arrest him for making a false report.

Lmao this happened to a friend of mine once. She had to climb through her window. I just wish she recorded it all before telling me about it

@NickiHijab I know how to pick locks quite well so really it shouldn't have changed anything. Still though.
