I Am Appalled At the Anger and Religious Intolerance On Here

I'm not exactly appalled because sadly intolerance is a thing that is almost expected to be found everywhere. But a lot of people on this site bother me.
I'm a Christian. But I don't force my beliefs on anyone. I merely state what I believe and I try to respect other people no matter how absurd or wrong their views seem to me.
But there are many concepts about intolerance that most people don't seem to understand.
It is intolerant to insult people who hold different views. The statements "everyone who believes in God is stupid" and "everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is stupid" are both intolerant. Tolerance is about respecting whoever you believe is wrong no matter how absurd their views are.
It is not intolerant to challenge other people's views and to state why you believe what you believe. However, no one of any faith (or non-faith) should force their beliefs or views on anyone who doesn't want to listen or argue with them.
It is also not intolerant to believe that your faith or belief is superior to other faiths or beliefs or to desire that people convert to your faith or beliefs.
What true intolerance is is saying that the people who hold other beliefs are stupid and should not be allowed to hold such beliefs.

So many so-called Christians infiltrate the atheist threads trying to convert them or otherwise disrespect them by telling them how they should change their lives. I imagine atheists get awfully tired of that - as I've seen it - so it's no wonder to get a sense of anger and intolerance. The Christians certainly are not tolerant of the atheists. I would think if the Christians wanted tolerance, they would practice it.
